Introducing Charlene

I assemble dollhouses and collect miniatures for myself and my family’s enjoyment. I enjoy acquiring 1:12 scaled items that parallel items in my real-life and turning my mini-wishes into a mini-reality.

• My mom and aunt and I began collecting porcelain dolls in the 90’s and early 2000’s. I used to believe that “bigger was better” with several of my solid porcelain dolls standing nearly 4 feet tall. As our collections grew to be too large we converted to collecting miniatures, each building a dollhouse from kits in 2001.

• I’m a registered nurse. I have a Master’s Degree in Nursing Education and I’m tri-certified (Progressive Care, Critical-Care, and Cardiac Medicine). I work full-time at the bedside in a neuro ICU. I’m also a clinical instructor working upwards of 60 hours/week when teaching. I’ve served in multiple volunteer roles with The American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN) just having completed a 3-year regional advisory position prior to starting work on “The Queen Patricia.”

• Our miniatures consume our time, talents, and pocketbooks! We direct family vacations around visits to shops, shows and museums. The internet and social media has afforded us to follow, communicate with, and purchase from miniaturists from around the world.

• Miniatures help me to focus on and create a “little” personal fun in my world! My mini-bucket-list is never ending!
